Subject: Milestone
I'm not sure of the significance of it, but it
seems important somehow. Fifty-two weeks ago today (Friday) was my last
day of work. I guess the anniversary is technically Saturday May 4th,
but one year ago today I was spending my last day in the office. I had
hoped to make it a year, and here I am. Due to some fortunate
circumstances I'll get into later, I will be adventuring a little longer, but
I have a lot of catching up to do before I get to that (no promises when I'll
get around to it though). A few other milestones lately include this:
Passing 200,000 miles on the van's odometer.
I'm not responsible for all of that, just the last 30,000 or so. Other
highlights of the last month or so include my first real tricks on a snowboard
and my first trip to the emergency room. But all of that will come in
time, for now I'm on my way back to San Francisco for a week, and then to
Paris for a week. When I get back I'll be heading to Montana for a
while. I guess I should have some sort of reflections or insight on
the last year, but this date actually kind of snuck up on me, so all you get
for now is a picture of my odometer. I hope everybody is doing well
wherever you are and whatever you are doing.
Happy New Year!
